Why not try Nordic Walking?  Caerphilly Nordic Walks operates in and around Caerphilly County Borough, taking in picturesque views of the stunning countryside. 

Walks are led by Ed, who is a qualified Nordic walk instructor with British Nordic Walking. Nordic walking originated from the Scandanavian region and has been in Britain since 2005.

It is a complete overall exercise with many health benefits, including:

  • Burns 46% more calories than ordinary walking
  • Strengthens back and abdominal muscles
  • Low impact on joints
  • Great cardio-vascular and all over work out
  • Improves posture

Each session lasts approx. Suitable for all fitness levels. Session fee includes the use of the Nordic poles and tuition of the technique. Quote the 'Visit Caerphilly' website to book a taster session.

Monday: 10.45am arrival for a 11am site, locations rotate weekly from Blackwood, Pengam, Gelligroes walks - alternating week to week.

Wednesday: 10.45am arrival for a 11am site, locations rotate weekly from Blackwood, Pengam, Gelligroes walks - alternating week to week.

Friday: 11am - Cwmcarn Forest Drive (more demanding walk)

Saturday 11am: Canal walk Pontywaun - Risca, with a stop at Canal Side Tea Rooms for a cuppa.
