Caerphilly Winter Fair is the perfect place to get you in the Christmas spirit. Experience the sights, sounds and smells of a town and Castle preparing for Christmas with delicious street food, the smell of mulled wine, exciting street theatre and over 50 food, craft and gift stalls including funfair attractions to delight the whole family!
This magical event is host to the River of Light Lantern Parade that starts at 5pm and concludes with a Fireworks Display at 5:45pm! Be sure to also attend one of the River of Light Lantern-Making Workshops and make your own lantern to light up the town! (Please note: attending the workshops is NOT a requirement to take part in the parade.)
Whilst at Caerphilly Winter Fair, don’t forget to visit the popular Caerphilly Artisan Market in the Twyn Community Centre, Crafty Legs’ Craft Fair & Market at the Cenotaph, Castle Court Craft & Food Market in Castle Court Shopping Centre and Ffos Caerffili. All these markets complement the Caerphilly Winter Fair and the town’s mixture of independent & high street stores.
This event is completely FREE! Normal admission fees apply to Caerphilly Castle.

Some of the entertainment and activities you can expect to find at the Caerphilly Winter Fair include:
Grab a bite to eat, warm up with a hot drink or get some Christmas shopping done with our fantastic stallholders! With a fantastic selection of over 70 food, craft and information traders to choose from, there’s something for everyone!
The River of Light Lantern Parade will start at St Martin’s School, before travelling down Cardiff Road and Castle Street, turning at the cenotaph onto Market Street and back up to the Twyn car park.
The fireworks will be set off from the side of Caerphilly Castle, creating a spectacular display of colour above the town centre!

Parking
Public parking is available at the following locations:
FREE parking facilities will also be available at Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhymni y Gwyndy, Pontygwindy Road, CF83 3HG.

Public Transport
Caerphilly Transport Interchange is located nearby the event site and houses both the bus and train stations.

There are several bike racks located within Caerphilly town centre, marked purple on the map.
Bike racks can be found at Caerphilly train station, throughout Cardiff Road, around the Twyn and outside Morrisons.
